In the wee small hours of the morning...

From Science of Mind ™ text - Mental Equivalents. By Ernest Holmes
"The whole teaching of Jesus was based on the theory that we are surrounded by an intelligent Law, which does unto each as he believes. He implied the necessity of faith, conviction and acceptance. That is, it must be measured out to us according to our own measuring. We must not only believe, we must know that our belief measures the extent and degree of our blessing."

Currently, in regards to our need to move, we are still in the assessing mode and it is imperative that we know what it is that we want and so the Board of Trustees and I are asking for your input.

"We must have a mental equivalent of the thing we desire. A demonstration, like anything else in the objective life, is born out of a mental concept."

These passages are on pages 280 and 281 of the SOM text book. I invite you to read them, as we are in the midst of a teachable moment.

Changes - going forward

TOGETHER. SHAPING THE FUTURE.
Introduction.
In an effort of keeping you, the members of our spiritual home, up with the news, I'm beginning a weekly informational blog. This blog is different from the weekly email blasts you receive.

Some of you may not already know that our building lease agreement ends the 31st day of August, 2013, and that we are not being offered a new lease agreement. We have to move. The landlord, John Shaw (of Huntington International, Inc.) has found an international architecture firm that want to rent the entire building and are willing to pay the fail market value.

So it is. This blog will give the details as we progress in this process of moving so that you are aware and nothing is concealed.

This development and its unfolding involve you. We are moving our spiritual home and like moving in any other sense, you are an essential part of the process. What you feel counts. What you think counts. Let's talk. Let's keep the communication open.

Being stewards of Foothill Center for Spiritual Living, the Board of Trustees is ever available to "hear you out." Whether you have a suggestion, an idea or a question, feel free to ask anyone on the Board, or write it down in an email to: fcsloffice@att.net. During this time frame, the Board may be meeting more than the standard one time a month and may have telephone conference calls to go over items and to make decisions pertinent to this next new opportunity.

I'm asking that you be patient with me, as I'll be patient with you.

In gratitude and with love,

Rev. LeNore

Color

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
Why would I want to begin it with a blog? Who cares? No one. That doesn't matter.
I'm doing this for me.
The post today is "color."
When I began in this life I was beguiled, enchanted, bewitched by color. I can remember being very tiny and going to St. Michael's (St. Mike's), Catholic Church and just enjoying the color of the stained glass windows. I went back to that church 40 years later and the same windows were there and it was the very same color. The stained glass was so pure and vivid with clarity and color.
Course, without light, there is an absence of color. Or at least the color and the light need each other to be enjoyed by us as physical beings. I also remember being at St. Mike's at night and the color wasn't there anymore... what fun was that? As a child I wondered what happened to it. I was already a scientist in the wonder of it all.
Today, when we go out and enjoy our cup of coffee and feed the sparrows, the finches, and the scrub jays and we chase the squirrels off the bird feeder, light will be present. Once this "June gloom" wears away, color will be dramatic and vibrant once again.
What do I want to experience today? Order, harmony, and peace. That and getting some work done! So, I am off! To make coffee! To read chapters in Judge Thomas Troward's "Edinburgh Lectures." To read my daily reading from the "Science of Mind" textbook.
It's a good day!
